Our guarantees and warranties start on the day of purchase. When making a claim you will need the original purchase receipt as proof of purchase.

Sofas & armchairs

Daily life at home is highly dependent on seating furniture. Our furniture is rigorously tested to meet our stringent standards for quality and durability, and is also tested to the high standar for household use. This means we provide a 10 year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship on all of our frames, sofa cushions, armchairs, sofa beds and footstools, and for some products, a 25 year warranty. This warranty is subject to the terms and conditions stated in the warranty brochure.

What is covered under this guarantee?
This guarantee applies to domestic use only and covers defects inmaterial and workmanship in:
  • Frames
  • Seat and back cushions
What is not covered under this guarantee?
This guarantee does not apply to:
  • Fabric covers
  • Leather covers
  • Coated fabrics
  • POÄNG cushions
  • Seating furniture made from rattan, bamboo, or other natural fibers.

This guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents.
 

BESTÅ storage system

BESTÅ system storage cabinets have been tested to meet our quality and durability requirements. IKEA strictly controls the formaldehyde content to meet EU standards. The panel is durable, back and bottom were treated with edge sealing to decrease the risk of damp. It is safe, sturdy and durable and meets the daily use standards of ordinary families. The coverage of this quality guarantee is subject to the terms and rules in this booklet.

What is covered under this guarantee?

This guarantee applies to domestic use only and covers structural manufacturing defect in material of the BESTÅ system storage cabinets; includes frames, door/drawer fronts, interior fittings and parts, legs.
 

What is not covered under this guarantee?

  • Products that have been stored or installed incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or wrong cleaning products
  • Normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents
  • Damages caused by external factors such as exposure to the sun and water, dampness, dust or mites etc.
  • Any products without the original copy of sales receipt and invoice
  • Knobs and handles, storage boxes, drawer divider, drawer mat.

What is covered under this guarantee?
The guarantee covers defects in materials, workmanship and function on all main parts in the BEKANT series, IDÅSEN series, TROTTEN system, GALANT storage system, THYGE desk and HÄLLAN cabinets from the date of purchase at IKEA.

What products are not covered under this guarantee?
  • BEKANT screens
IKEA will examine the product and decide, at its sole discretion, if it is covered under this guarantee. If considered covered, IKEA through its own service operations, will then, at its sole discretion, either repair the defective product or replace it with the same or a comparable product. If it is covered by this guarantee, IKEA will pay the costs of repairs, spare parts, labour and travel for repair staff, that IKEA incur, provided that the product is accessible for repair without special expenditure. This does not apply to any repair work not authorized by IKEA. Replaced parts become the property of IKEA.

This guarantee covers defects in material and workmanship in all mattresses. The guarantee covers split seams, damaged springs, broken handles, broken mattress base and substantial sagging. The original purchase receipt is required as proof of purchase. This guarantee applies to domestic use only.

What products are not covered under this guarantee?
This guarantee does not apply to:
  • This guarantee policy does not apply to all mattress pads, sofa beds, and children mattresses.
  • We do not offer a guarantee on mattresses that are developed to be used directly on the floor, or so-called futon mattresses (for example JESSHEIM)

These two guarantees are valid for all bathroom shower products at IKEA. The guarantees cover defects in material and workmanship in all bathroom shower products. Our products are tested well beyond all relevant international standards and we use only top brand components to secure our 3 and 10 year guarantee promise.

What is not covered under this guarantee?
This guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts, accidents or waterborne debris. Follow our assembly instructions and care instructions carefully. This guarantee does not apply to products that have been stored, assembled or installed incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or wrong cleaning products. This guarantee does not apply if the products have been used outdoors or in a corrosive environment. It also does not cover accidental damage.

  • Flat base: The bottom of the cookware remains stable and does not warp.
  • Product construction: No damage to metal parts or handles.
  • Dishwasher safe: For stainless steel cookware.

It also guarantees handle durability and rust resistance. However, the warranty does not cover non-domestic use, certain knives like steak knives, or cosmetic changes that don’t affect functionality.
